Some hikes you plan, and some hikes you actually take. Unfortunately, my much-anticipated trip to Red Red River Gorge in Kentucky fell into the first category. I was supposed to hit the trails last weekend, but thanks to some uncooperative weather and tornado risks, the trip had to be postponed. While I didn’t get to experience it as soon as I would have liked, I'm still looking forward to driving down to Red River Gorge and hitting the trails in the near future.

Since I didn’t get to Kentucky this time, I’m making an even better game plan for when I do. The trails at the top of my list include Auxier Ridge Trail and Double Arch Trail. Both are rated as moderate and both trails are just over 4 miles long. Auxier Ridge in particular seems to be known for its breathtaking views, and Double Arch Trail is one of the most popular trails in the gorge. This trail also offers a lot of rock-climbing opportunities by having people climb up the arches, which is super exciting to me.

Hopefully I'll be able to get down to Kentucky sooner rather than later and am really looking forward to it.
